I don't know that Pagan needs any special attention but I've been, [another very minor hesitation] distracted. I don't want him feeling adrift.

[ He'd actually asked Pagan out for a date tonight already, but they'll get to that. ]

I'm still combing through the other conversations. I went to BJ directly to see about getting some, before I let other opinions influence mine.

Ezio-san and a new young warden have decided to punish Seed-san for requesting it, given it's harmful effects.

[ How much is Kiryu not on board with this? A lot. ]

Ezio-san was leaving to do just that a few minutes ago.

Shit. What punishment?

[ His eyes close in frustration. ]

I believe they intend to put him under house arrest. With no proof of harm or wrongdoing. Simply the request for a harmful substance is seen as a crime.

[ His hands clench in frustration. He's very very displeased about this. For any number of reasons. ]

I believe this is going to have significant consequences. But I was seen as being too 'soft'.

[He grabs his jacket.]

I'm going to him. I need you to come with, fill me in on everything you can think of. What the Bliss is, how he got it, who has it. Who knows, who supports the punishment.

He doesn't have it.

[ Kiryu is as sure of that as he can be. Norton would have warned him, or would have been in a state that he could tell. ]

I can tell you all about it, though. I requested the information from the Admiral and had a talk with him afterwards. As far as I can tell, no one has any.

Ezio and the new warden spoke up for punishment. I expect the other woman who asked me about what I knew would too. I don't know their names, as we haven't met. One is a young girl, pale, with red hair. The other is dark haired with olive skin.

[ But he is coming along. ]

A young girl. [He hates that anyone under 20 is on board at all, let alone as a warden.] So no one has it no one knows what it does?

I know what it does. As does BJ, who asked about it in his post.

It allows for mind control and brainwashing, the removal of memories and potentially permanent nerve damage and sensory loss. My booklet with details on it is in Japanese, or I'd let you read it. BJ's is in English, however.

[ A sigh. ]

I agree it shouldn't be on board. But I believe the effort should be towards preventing it through warden information sharing not punishing someone for asking for something.

I agree. It's why we need to be there to offer a second view.

You know I never agree with my clients? But this is why I do what I do.

I tried to argue against it before they left to apprehend him. And I didn't think my kind of intervention would have helped matters.

[ Fighting among wardens is, in his estimation, exactly the kind of fracturing that will cause bigger problems.

He holds out his communicator, which is still on the posting. ]

Lark pauses, looking at it. "Tactically I want to let Ezio make himself the bad guy by doing this, then intervening. I don't think I can stop him without it going to violence and we don't want that. But you're right...arguing won't change anyone's mind while they're this amped up."

Quietly: "I think the moment an inmate is hassled by a warden for a requested item, we've already lost a great deal of good faith." He breathes in and out and looks over at Lark.

"I don't think stopping them, or trying to reverse this, will help anything. But I think the others may calm down if we can prove that there is none of the Bliss on the Barge."

He tips his chin towards Lark.

"Do you think you'd be able to smell it?"
