He hasn't mentioned it. [Lark's tone says he doesn't expect Alec to; Alec keeps secrets, including other people's.]

Memory floods are always hard. But this one wasn't as bad as some of the others. It helps, I think, to be able to influence them.

How are you doing since it ended?

[the_executioner]

[She shrugs, slipping her hands into her pockets, and giving him blank face.]

I'm fine.

Mm. [Yeah that answers plenty.]

If it helps, we should have a port next. Room to get away from here, to decompress.

[the_executioner]

They let us off the ship?

[That seems pretty far fetched.]

Well, we get dragged back on board when the week is over. But yeah, and most ports are easygoing. You can shop, meet people. You'll need a warden to first let you off and then give you money. [It goes without saying that if Nadja won't Lark will, so he doesn't say it.]

Other than that, the week is up to you.

[He might want to say it. Anita has issues with reading subtly.]

Oh boy. The last thing I want is to ask my new groupie for anything.

Well, it might show you how eager she is to please you. But I wouldn't want her to feel she owed me any favors if I was in your place, so if she tries to make you wait it out and ask her, why don't you just go off ship with Pagan and me?

[the_executioner]

That might be the better idea. Then we can go during the day, and avoid the issue.

[ukan]

All right. We'll plan on that, then.

[It's a handy excuse, too: if Nadja is annoyed that someone took her temp, they can simply say that Anita wanted to go out in the day.]
