Good and evil are tools, just like anything else.

They're cultural artifacts used to manipulate a given society, sure. I'll give you that.

Here, that matters, because of the absurd amount of power given to the Wardens. At home, people could apply whatever they liked to me; it didn't mean they were able to interrupt me with it.

Why ignore it when you can use it? Do you know how excited people get when they think they are against someone that's truly evil? Do you know how it makes them hold themselves back out of fear of becoming that which they fight?

Oh I do. But I'm a defense attorney. [And a murderous werewolf.] I've seen that the bloodiest crimes don't necessarily make a person any less 'human' than they were. Morality is often just a way to justify behavior.

Sometimes. Other times it's a guide for the aimless.
