Hanna had woken up from his stupid stasis with an itch. Something while hed been dreaming bothered him, and instead of bothering to brush his hair, though he does brush his teeth at least, he pulls on pants, a sweater and marches himself over to Lark's door.
The knock is unassuming, his crossed arms and tapping foot paired with the bed head and lines on his face from his pillow are less so.
"Dont mind if I do," he says mildly, slipping past Lark into his cabin and waiting for him to shut the door. If he's in here he isnt so angry that he can't wait to berate him behind a closed door.
"Had a chat with Malcolm, before the Breach. He told me something interesting, about lone wolves going insane." He tilts his head and nods at him, "why do wolves go insane when they are alone, Lark?"
"That's an oversimplification for a complicated aspect of lycanthropy." He sets a kettle on the stove. "Are you really here to yell at me about wolf biology? Because I don't think you know enough to be mad."
"Uhuh. You know, thats what I thought too, actually." It's a different Gotcha than he was expecting, but having been handed that straight from the wolf's mouth? He'll take it.
"And exactly why Im here to yell at you, because thats all Malcolm could say about it and being a fucking lycanthrope and having his pack leader here, who changed him on board god knows how long before now? He should know the complicated answer, not the fucking cliff notes version months after that biology is now his biology."
"It's not a problem that will ever apply to him." He folds his arms over his chest. "I don't really like discussing the minute vulnerabilities of my species with outsiders, and Malcolm shares things more freely than I like. So. He knows what he needs to know for the Barge and when we go home to LA I'll introduce him to the Admiral free aspects of being a wolf."
"Yeah, just like how if you disappeared tomorrow every little wolfy secret you kept from your pack because they are a 'liability' to themselves would leave with you." And he knows that there are ways to find him, but that isnt the point.
"You gave someone who trusted you a gift that changed him forever and you're gatekeeping who he is now from him because you think you'll always be there." But Lark isnt Malcolm, he isn't floating around in marital bliss, he can be more blunt, "and if it isnt you, it might be Will. Come on, Lark you can't just make a promise that you'll be there forever and check it off your list. You have to know thats bullshit."
Hanna pinches the bridge of his nose in an attempt to keep his cool, "well, what ever youre not telling your pack here but intend to where its safer for you is where I'd start."
Pacing does him better to release some of that frustration so he starts walking as he talks, "and just so we're clear, I dont think its any of my fucking business how yall work, even if I like to know the differences in lore. But I'm not in your pack, they are, and if they have questions, or if there's something thats changed that they dont know about that might harm them in some special, unlikely scenario, they should know about it and how that works. Bottom line."
"Right," he says slowly, watching Hanna, not moving. "I guess I'm not sure why you think I'm withholding life saving information from them? I'm not. I haven't told them all the lore. The history, the religion."
