[just like he told Vin that it actually was kind of sweet, and maybe a little romantic in a fucked up kind of way. He does at least have less conflicting feelings about his clumsily carved box. That thing is fucking adorable.]
Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
Look, just...don't be mad at Vincent for this. He did it because he loves you. It took a lot for him to do this. And your inmate isn't really hurt by it.
Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
[Hanna will pause a moment on his way out the door.]
I think the only person who can say for sure he wasn't hurt, was his royal pain in my ass. And while I'm not saying he didn't deserve it, that doesn't mean that I asked for it either.
I can accept all Vincent's reasons for doing this, and still be kind of pissed off at the same time. Those two things aren't impossible to feel at the same time. I contain multitudes of stupid, conflicting feelings all the time. This is no different.
Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
Oh he wouldn't. And I'm proud of him so unfortunately I can't flick him either. He got revenge without causing a bloody massacre; that's more than I've ever done.
And with his history how often do you think he wanted to protect people he cared about? How often do you think he was actually able to do it?
This is a step forward for him. Grim as that may seem.
Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
There is a huge difference between a human man and a werewolf as far as revenge goes, Lark, but I don't disagree.
My problem is he did it knowing I'd shoot him down if he brought it up to me. I don't do vengeance, and if it had just been for him and Sokie, then sure. But it was presented as a gift, one I would never ask for.
That, in my mind is where we have some shit to talk about.
Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
He was never able to protect anyone back home, Hanna. Not really. Keep that in mind with him, please? It took a lot for him to go out on a limb for getting 'justice' for you.
Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
You know, it sounds to me like you think I'm going to go in yelling and screaming.
That's not really my MO. I'm not ignorant, but there's personal shit shoved in there that you aren't aware of. I am invested in this thing we have going on, if that's what you're trying to squeeze out of me, Lark.

Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
That is what I'm after, yeah. I don't want you to give up on Vincent. Especially now. I want you to appreciate what he did for you even though I know it complicates your job as a warden. I don't want you to lose sight of what it cost Vincent to put this together. No matter what.
Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
[Hanna is going to raise his eyebrow higher than mount Everest.]
And to that I'm going to tell you that your job doesn't have any space in my relationship. You're making a lot of assumptions about where I'm at and I've got shit to do.
So I'm gonna go.
Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
[Oh, Lark. He doesn't have the patience for this right now.]
Are you fucking ki- [He cuts himself off with frustrated grumbling.] You know what? Nope. I'm not touching that.
If you want to think I'm not concerned about the same fucking thing then obviously your stupid little wolfy brain is currently scrambled. You keep him safe, that's your job, and I'll step in if I have to but I made a promise, alright? I'm keeping it.
Go eat a shoe or something. [And with that Hanna is going to hang up.]

Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
It's kind of funny, wolves where I come from can talk in every form they have too, so she'd just be yapping away as this cute little puff ball.
Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
[He's kidding. That would have ended with him in a science lab. No thank you. But still the image is funny]
Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
They'd see a dog talking and immediately think 'naw, that didn't happen'.

Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
[He really should be getting on with this bullshit, he's been multitasking, but...]
I'm not powerful enough to offer any kind of help at keeping your pack obscured, but... you ever think of something I can do to help, let me know.

Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
Alrighty I'm going to go on a fucked up scavenger hunt. Flick Vinny's nose for me if you see him.

Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
Just don't be angry that I'm not punishing Vincent for it. I think he did the right thing given the tools he has at this given moment.
Re: Shortly after Vincent leaves Hanna to his scavenger hunt
I mean, I could ask you to kiss his nose instead but that'd be weird and I don't think he'd appreciate it.
