I just want to make sure whatever I do, it's different enough that it doesn't freak him out. And doesn't, I don't know, overlap with anything they did.
[That's for personal reasons. He wants something that's just his, that he doesn't have to share with Bucky.
There's a little pause, then he adds, sounding a little nervous,]
I won't. But you should talk to him about it. I don't know what he'd want to feel your wedding is special. I just know he'll want you to feel cherished.
Right now I'm aiming for "not freaking out too bad".
Not "not at all" just "not too bad".
But thanks, man, I appreciate it. I'm thinking we're actually gonna... do something a little different, called handfasting. Means we get a year for him to get over being weird about it before the actual wedding.
Thinking I'll tell him right before we go do it. Keep him from fretting himself out of his skin for weeks beforehand. Then we'll get it over with and he'll move straight into fretting about the marriage part. Skip some of that worrying.

[Yes, this is random and out of the blue. Sorry, Lark.]
Re: Audio
What do you want to know?
Re: Audio
Was it a pretty typical wedding, or did they do something-- I don't know, different from normal?
[He sounds embarrassed to be asking, but he does still need to know. For reasons.]
Re: Audio
...Are you planning yours?

Don't tell Steve?

Re: Audio
Sweeney says a few words, we say we commit to marrying in a year, and he ties our hands together. It's an Irish thing.

Re: Audio
[B does sound kind of relieved. He thought it was a good idea, but it's nice to have confirmation.]
Gonna do it on his birthday.

Re: Audio
...I think he'll love it.
Re: Audio
It's tradition, anyway. A kiss was my birthday present to him two years ago.

[He's teasing]
Re: Audio
[Teasing, back, of course.]

Re: Audio
I look forward to seeing what you got.
[And he's got a good month to figure something out.]
