They're not doing anything. Ye Zun seems to want people to blame him and Dorian thinks a week in Zero is punishment enough unless I come up with something better.
I'm going to dig a little, see if I can uncover some more motives--why he selected Trixie, things we can use to tailor this when we bring it to Ye Zun.
[A long sigh] And I expect Ye Zun won't do anything with it. He's done fuckall with Sephiroth at all. But with enough pressure he might. If I can get Zack on board, he might. And if he resists, we still have options.
Uh. You also might get a call from Dorian in a minute, he kept threatening to call you because I was making Trixie's death 'all about me.' I think it's because I'm willing to fight Sephiroth and most aren't.
I also didn't want to wait two weeks to figure it out.
If the entire ship decides to turn on us because we're trying to do something about this mess, you're welcome in my cabin. We'll turn it into a fortress. I'll make s'mores.
Protecting people is a key part of your identity. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you were raised to see yourself as a shield against the darkness. When you see an injustice, you were born and trained and raised to want to correct it. Being asked not to do that is asking you to give up a piece of yourself. [So in that sense, it is about Trevor.]
But the whole time I've known you, you have always put others' safety ahead of your own. If you jump into a situation, it's because you're used to being the only one who can do anything about it. It's not about your ego. If I thought you fought your fights because you wanted someone to pat you on the ass for it, you and I would have a very different relationship.
And Zero doesn't do shit. But you're here brainstorming with me on more effective ways of handling things here--it's not about the glory for you.
I get the sense she wants to let things go either because she feels embarrassed or hurt or doesn’t want others getting hurt. But I think that’s a shit reason for letting Sephiroth go with a slap on the wrist.
I think making sure he can’t hurt anyone else takes precedence over what she wants. But maybe that’s a shit way to think.
Where I'm from, there's an option to prosecute someone even if the victim doesn't want it to happen. If the crime is heinous enough, or the victim has been so badly abused they've shut down their own sense of worth, or going after the perpetrator means protecting the public.
I could go either way on this. I don't know her well enough to guess what her reasoning is, but I think it does matter.
I agree. About both...we need more insights into this before any action is taken. The more effective the first response is, the less bloodshed there will be.

[Trevor is so sick of this shit.]

Find out what their wardens are doing about it. We'll go from there.

I'll check with Dorian now.

Apparently 'kill Sephiroth' is not better.

What about a ricochet effect? Whatever harm he does to someone, it doubles back on him?

I'd tell you more but now I want it to be a surprise.

....
He's wrong, right? I don't make shit about me. It's only that no one else ever fucking wants to do anything apart from Zero.

It’s wrong to not do anything when someone is causing death and destruction, and being part of my family.
Trixie doesn’t want anything to happen. Normally if I were at home, I wouldn’t listen because the dead don’t speak.
There’s a reason why a judge and not the family of the murdered person judges a murderer.

That is one aspect of this place I wish we had at home. A victim's wishes matter.
Do you want to let her decide how we handle this?

I haven’t had the chance to visit her or him in person yet. Maybe some insight will show up there.
I’m concerned with “will he kill again” and if the answer is yes, then I act.

I can see Trixie but I can’t get into Zero without you or someone else.
