I thought I should let you know:

First that Trevor gave me a statement. He insisted. And he met the criteria. Extremely well.

Secondly, that I gave him the time freeze gun from Ford, after thorough explanation and a few run throughs on safety concerns.

I thought it might help give him more options, given his inclinations.

[ He? Is so glad Lark isn't mad with him. So glad. He'd told Trevor he'd face it if he was, but he still hadn't liked the idea. ]

Well enough, though I'm tired of arguing with him over the very idea he might have some worth and value as a person instead of just a monster hunter. Not that I'll stop, mind you. It's clear he needs to hear it.

He does. But he'll listen more easily if we can give him something to do that's valuable and doesn't involve knives.

I'm not so sure of that, to be honest. I certainly didn't feel as if I was any less doomed to my fate while I was fixing the filing system in the archives.

Though we do have a project. And, um, it might require your assistance?

His family history, his legacy. The library offered him opportunity, and more importantly, time to look into it, to reconnect with the family he lost.

One of the books we found of late detailed the creation of and story surrounding one of the family’s more well-known weapons: the Vampire Killer, a whip. He asked me for it, for reasons that… honestly, it would be best he cover with you, and I put in the request but… even entirely unable to be utilized as a weapon, as I asked…

It is something he requires go through you.

I took his weapons from him. I'm not sure I want to give him any back that could do any harm. How did you phrase the request?

I specifically asked for it as an artifact, clarified that it could be made entirely unusable to cause harm. I don’t think he wants it as a weapon.

He wants it because of what we found. And because it is a piece of his family’s history.

…has he told you about what happened to his family? Not what’s in the file. Him.

I offered to get the whip for him before. He said he didn't trust the Admiral to give him the real one--then he said he didn't want to ask the Admiral for anything. Whatever you found, it must have had a serious impact.

If you ask now, I’d be willing to verify the truth of it for him.

But… yes, it was a rather significant discovery. Once the library is recovered, I hope to find more for him.

I believe him. I believe everything he says. I'm not sure what to do with someone as up front as he is.
